Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to support manufacturing. Under the direction and guidance of the production Supervisor this position will lead and direct line employees daily assignments, operate production equipment to meet manufacturing targets for safety, quality, delivery and cost, develop production associates and properly identify root cause of non-conforming product and downtime to implement actions for recurrence prevention. This Team Lead will focus on the PCU Dept on 3rd Shift.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Supervisor in planning rotations and training to the Work Instructions with production associates to ensure we ship quality products to the customer, smooth production, low scrap and rejects.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all processes, procedures, and equipment
- Understand inventories, generate detailed carryovers
- Verify production documents are properly completed and maintained, and appropriate action is taken to contain and control out of compliance conditions
- Keep line running with immediate actions (calling for Machine TA support, notification to QC with part issues, and request to Supervisor when needed)
- Train, Develop, and Mentor Associates, enforce PPE
- Assist in Root Cause Analysis and Countermeasure Development & Implementation
- Liaison Between Production, Quality and Engineering
- Other duties as assigned. (sorts, quality alerts, temporary work instructions, 6S)
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience performing production work in multiple functions of the manufacturing environment
- Proven history of maintaining professional demeanor and conduct and exercising initiative
- Understanding of manufacturing operations and processes in or out of assigned area
- Basic experience required in MSWord, Excel, and the Internet
- Must have good attendance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a leadership role (Committee, Quality Circle, etc.)
