Description
Summary: Under the direction of management, exercises responsibility for execution of Engineering strategies and tactical plans at (HIAMS)AM sites. This position develops priorities and objectives in cooperation with each site management team and oversees implementation. Position serves as a corporate resource to all Engineering staff and management teams at all sites. This position exercises independent judgment routinely and operates within established guidelines.
Essential Functions: Includes the following (other duties may be documented and assigned by local management and some duties may not apply dependent upon the requirements of the position at each specific (HIAMS)AM site and/or the strengths of the employee and the needs of the company):
Under direct supervision, assists higher level Engineers with the design, plan and project coordination by performing any combination of or all essential duties and responsibilities assigned. Develops, evaluates, and improves methods while emphasizing the implementation of quality, efficiency, process, costing, and equipment improvements. Observes and assists higher level Engineers in resolving problematic issues related to specific areas of technology, equipment and processes. Confers with appropriate departments to ensure efficient and effective review and implementation for completed job tasks. Contacts vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. Must be able to apply technical theory and other acquired knowledge to resolve technical problems. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and must be able to draw, read and interpret schematics.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, skills & abilities: Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Possess ability to perform duties utilizing current company software applications. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills required. This position performs job duties in an ethical and professional manner. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field
Experience: Less than 3 years prior related experience preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervisory responsibilities may be possible to perform the job duties as designated by area management.
Working Conditions:
Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to work 40 – 60 hours per week, including weekends and holiday work.
Travel: Up to 5% domestic and international may be required as needed.
Work Environment: Working in an office environment with exposure to manufacturing areas.
