Astemo Rock Spring, Inc. was established in 2000 and supplies aluminum knuckles to Honda and Subaru. We are in Rock Spring, GA, and operate on 3 shifts with 400 employees. Position Summary:
The Buyer/PMO Specialist is a dual-function role responsible for supporting both procurement activities and project management initiatives within PC&L. This position ensures accurate purchasing execution, maintains supplier relationships, and supports operational projects to improve delivery, quality, and cost performance. The role requires strong organization, follow-through, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional tasks while maintaining reliability in day-to-day purchasing duties.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Maintain dashboards and spend analysis reports for spending, supplier performance, and cost trends.
- Assist with Requests for Quotation (RFQs) by analyzing pricing, terms, and supplier competitiveness.
- Monitor and track purchase order activity, delivery schedules, and material availability through available systems.
- Support compliance by maintaining corporate and internal procedures and required record-keeping for audit purposes.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Production Control, Engineering, and Quality to ensure data integrity and accurate supplier information.
- Conduct market research and coordinate with Corporate as needed to identify alternative suppliers, benchmark pricing, and assess supply risks.
- Participate in cost reform, value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE), and continuous improvement projects.
- Prepare executive-level summaries, operational reports, and risk assessments to support management decisions.
PMO Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning, coordinating, and tracking New Model projects.
- Support project timelines, task assignments, follow-ups, and milestone monitoring.
- Maintain project documentation, action logs, risk registers, and progress reports.
- Prepare dashboards, presentations, and status updates for leadership.
- Help ensure alignment between project goals, PC&L priorities, and operational needs.
- Facilitate communication between departments to maintain progress and accountability.
- Research data, benchmark best practices, and provide recommendations to support project success.
Safety & Environmental:
- Promotes a safety-first attitude and provides a safe work environment by obtaining knowledge and then following all required OSHA regulations which may or may not include: Personal Protective Equipment, LOTO, Crane, Powered Lifts, Machine Guarding, Chemicals, Fall Protection, Fire Protection, Incident reporting, Respirator, Hearing conservation, Confined Spaces, and others.

Preferred Skills:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data visualization skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with procurement processes, cost modeling, and supplier performance metrics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
- Experience with trade compliance, tariffs, and global sourcing analysis is a plus.
- Ability to work independently while supporting overall departmental goals.
Minimum Experienced Preferred:
- 3–5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain analysis, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Experience in cost analysis, data management, or supplier performance reporting.
- Automotive or Tier-1 manufacturing background preferred but not required.
Physical Demands:
- Primarily office-based role with regular use of computer and telephone.
- Occasional visits to production floor and supplier facilities (must be able to walk, stand, and wear required PPE).
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform standard office functions.
- Some travel may be required (domestic/international suppliers).
- Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally (documents, samples, or parts).
