We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you’ll contribute directly to the development of world-class products that deliver both safety and performance.
Your core responsibilities include:
- Lead the design and development of mechanical power transmission components for automotive electric brake actuators
- Lead design reviews, including DFMEA activities, to develop robust component and subsystem designs, from concept phase through serial production, by establishing detail specifications, performing necessary technical justifications and driving Design for Manufacturing (DfM), for assembly (DfA) and reliability (DfR) initiatives.
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop and optimize components and support sourcing activities through technical reviews, supplier evaluations and cost optimization initiatives.
- Support prototype builds, pilot production, and industrialization activities by resolving design, manufacturing, and assembly issues.
- Define and support component and system validation plans and investigate test failures and field issues, perform root cause analyses, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards, customer requirements, reliability targets, and applicable regulations.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, technical reports, design records, validation reports, change management and core knowledge documentation.
Profile and Qualifications:
- Master's degree (M.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in the design and development of mechanical components within the automotive industry or other high-volume industrial sectors.
- Proven experience in power transmission systems and knowledge of components such as ball screws, rolling-element bearings, seals and precision mechanical assemblies are highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of tribology, lubrication systems, material selection and surface engineering.
- Good knowledge in tolerance analysis and robustness engineering for reliability-driven product development.
- Good understanding of automotive development standards and processes and knowledge on safety-critical product development can be an advantage.
- Experience working with international suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Fluent in English
