Job Description
Working as a team on development that focuses on details on the scale of micrometers
As a team, we are developing fuel pump modules for motorcycle powertrains. We conduct desk studies, including computer-aided engineering (CAE) analyses of fluid dynamics, electromagnetic fields, and structures, and proceed with development through repeated tests and verifications. Fuel pump modules are made up of various materials such as metals and resins, so knowledge regarding materials is necessary for development.
In addition, a wide range of design knowledge such as that relating to fluid design, motor design, and structural design is indispensable. Delicate processing technologies that are accurate down to a few micrometers are also required. On top of that, we have to consider usage environments and costs, meaning development is a series of challenges.
We analyze causes, devise countermeasures, check their accuracy, and carefully conduct test evaluations to find solutions. Sometimes we work with suppliers and customers to solve problems.
It is because the people involved work together as a team to tackle difficult manufacturing challenges that we feel a great sense of joy when a project is completed.

From motorcycle enthusiast to motorcycle developer
I've been riding motorcycles since I was 16 years old.
I love motorcycles so much that I participate in small races and ride through mountain passes on touring. At some point, it was my dream to work in the motorcycle industry.
I was involved in the development of automotive parts at another company, but I want to improve my skills in motorcycle-related work! I decided to change jobs. I joined Astemo.

The development of fuel pump modules requires knowledge of various designs, as well as knowledge of materials and processing methods. And in my case, I have been able to make use of my design experience and knowledge at my previous job at an automotive parts company.
In addition to automobiles and motorcycles, the experience of being involved in manufacturing will surely be useful.
