Job Description

Understanding the flow of money with foreign countries in every detail

My job is to manage receivables and liabilities for overseas markets. I have to understand in detail the exchange of money that occurs with overseas group companies, calculate the exchange rate, and record it. In the monthly settlement of accounts, we record overseas purchases and sales, make payments, confirm payments, and more. In addition, as I have to confirm the payments and payment details, there are many opportunities to contact people in charge of overseas bases over e-mail.

In fact, I had never dealt with accounting or bookkeeping before joining the company. Therefore, I was very anxious at first.

However, my boss and senior employees taught me very carefully, so with each passing day I was able to deepen my understanding of the work, and I eventually became able to think for myself and enter journal entries.

Every day, I can feel that the number of things I am able to do is increasing, and I feel a great sense of fulfillment in my work every day. I'm still learning, of course, so I want to gain more experience and become a person who can help my juniors.

Motivation for Joining the Company

I sympathized with a business that is deeply connected to society and human life.

When I learned that the company manufactures braking devices for motorcycles and automobiles, I felt that it was a business with a high degree of social contribution, with a deep connection to society and people's lives. I decided to join the company because I wanted to be a supporter of employees with high technical skills required by society.

Useful Learning and Experience

Make use of the perspective of understanding things from numbers.

At university, I majored in regional economics. I learned about the structures of local industries, the issues faced by these regions, and the efforts to solve them based on actual examples. Since I used statistical data to analyze these regional economies, I was not afraid to work with numbers.

This learning experience may not seem directly related to accounting, but I feel that I can make use of the perspective of understanding things from changes in numbers going forward.

I am currently studying to gain a certain qualification, and I feel that as I acquire more knowledge, I am able to understand how the numbers I handle are reflected in other accounting tasks and even financial statements.

Specialized knowledge can be acquired after joining the company, so it is important to face work with a willingness to learn and the ability to visualize.

The scale of connections around the world

We do not only have bases all over Japan; we can also connect with people from all over the world by collaborating with global bases, and I feel that there are a wide range of opportunities to take on new challenges. Recently, I have had more opportunities to participate in meetings with numerous other employees.

It can be difficult to share opinions with experienced employees at meetings, but I am very stimulated by it. My seniors and colleagues treat me kindly given my lack of experience in bookkeeping and accounting, so I am motivated to do my best to meet their expectations.
