"Draw up a human resources strategy to accelerate business"
Yuji, Human Resources & General Affairs, Japan
Job Description
Helping the organization and people grow together
I am engaged in HR operations as an HR Business Partner (HRBP) in the software development team. We consider what kind of organization should be created to realize project strategies and business strategies, and plan the necessary human resource recruitment, assignment, training, labor, etc.
The important thing is to understand both what we want to be as an organization and what we want to be as individuals. By aligning the thoughts of both and allowing the organization and people to grow together, we realize our business strategies.
For this reason, we frequently exchange opinions with business managers and management to gain a deeper understanding of business strategies. In addition, based on information from career-related interviews to understand individual needs and career goals, we propose plans for human resource education and training.
As so-called CASE innovation accelerates, resource strategies for software talent and human resource recruitment have become important subjects for automakers. The results of my work will determine the outcome of Astemo's business. The scale of this responsibility makes it very rewarding.
Motivation for Joining the Company
I wanted to take on the challenge of HR to run a business.
In my previous job, I worked in the construction industry. It was there that I learned how interesting HR work was, and I wanted to work in HR work closer to business, so I started thinking about changing jobs.
We chose Astemo because it was a company with a strong presence in the automotive industry, which can be said to be a key industry in Japan. I was excited that my work would accelerate the business and contribute to society.
The automotive industry is undergoing a major transformation. I decided to join the company because I thought that I would be able to encounter many opportunities by immersing myself in change.

Useful Learning and Experience
Various experiences connect and prove useful
In my previous job, I handled a wide range of tasks such as construction management, cost accounting, general affairs, and human resources. Now, I'm working as an HRBP in a completely different industry, but I feel that the experience I had at that time is still proving useful.
In my previous job, I worked with many people from different positions and jobs. My work as an HRBP is similar, as I talk to people from a variety of positions, from the management line to the business line. The communication skills I gained there are now useful when collaborating with internal stakeholders.

Appeal of Astemo
An environment where you can speak openly
I am proud of this environment that makes it easy for anyone to consult. You can talk with your seniors, superiors, and even people in the business line who are rarely directly involved in your own daily work.
In addition, I have regular one-on-one interviews with my boss, so I can talk honestly about my work, career aspirations, and life. There's no need to remain uncertain, which means you can take on your work with strong motivation.
Information is key for an HRBP, so I feel that an open environment where I can easily talk with my boss and people on the business line is appealing.
