Job Description

Creating a society where everyone can drive a car with peace of mind

It is responsible for the development of autonomous driving and driver assistance systems. The theme I am dealing with is research and development of sensor fusion technology, which integrates the detection results of multiple sensors such as cameras, radars, and LIDAR installed in cars.

Modern cars are equipped with a variety of sensors to detect the driving environment, but each sensor has its own purpose and characteristics. Therefore, not all sensors can derive appropriate results for the event at hand.

Therefore, it is necessary to have a function to derive highly reliable information by referring to the information of multiple sensors and synthesizing the necessary data. That's what sensor fusion is all about.

If we can develop highly accurate sensor fusion technology, traffic accidents will be eliminated. Even if you are worried about driving, you can go for a drive with peace of mind. We are proceeding with development with the aim of realizing a safe and secure future.

Motivation for Joining the Company

There is an opportunity to be involved in the development of advanced core technologies.

When I was younger, I loved movies with car-shaped time machines, and I watched them over and over until the videotapes wore out. This led me to dream of developing advanced cars and technologies in the future. When I was looking for a job, I learned that the development of core technologies was carried out by suppliers, so I searched for companies centered on suppliers.

We chose  Astemo because it was an independent supplier. I decided to join the company because I was attracted to the possibility of creating technology with my own hands that will be installed in cars around the world.

Useful Learning and Experience

It is important to face the theme in front of you and have an attitude of accomplishing it.

Since I am involved in development in a field that is different from my major at university, I have learned a lot since I joined the company.  Astemo offers a number of technical training programs.

In addition, my seniors, who are professionals in various fields, were close to me and taught me carefully from the basics, so I didn't have to worry about not being able to do anything. That's why it's important to have a passion for manufacturing and a willingness to learn.

Regardless of the field, you will be able to make great use of the experience of firmly facing your research theme and enjoying completing it. Enjoy encountering new technologies and actively learn them.

Appeal of Astemo

A stimulating environment where you can be exposed to a wide range of skills and knowledge

Since the department often collaborates with people from  and the  Group, it is a stimulating environment where you can come into contact with new technologies and knowledge and gain new insights during meetings and information exchange within the company.

I also think it is attractive that we have several test courses adjacent to the factory. I feel that the ability to conduct actual running tests of the developed functions in close proximity is also an economity of scale of  Astemo.
